<lj:music>Apologize - One Republic</lj:music>

I'm so miserable. Whenever you are prepared for something, it usually turns out worse than what you expect. Day 1 was fucking awesome, but Day 2 was just meh.

I wanted so badly to start queuing up at 8 just to be the first, but I couldn't, and didn't. I reached the queue by about 10+ in the morning and the lie was already so long. Well, how could I forget? The Sunday tickets were high in demand. They were even sold out. So I waited from 10+AM all the way until the gates opened at 1.45Pm. I stoned, and fanned myself. I don't even remember what I did in between. People-observing I suppose.

We made acquaintances with these two girls who looked like my age, but was actually only 13. Girls these days. They were well-dressed; very stylish and trendy, yet not overdone. Even though they were nice, I actually really can't stand them. 13, but reading gossip magazines, speak with pseudo accents, and says "like" like so many times in that typical tone.

Misery #1
We finally could enter, and guess what? They fucking took my ticket stub. Apart from the fact that I want to paste my stub in my journal, my ticket stub had the priceless signature of Chris from Melee. Fuck them. I'm so pissed, depressed and whatever. I was seriously this close to crying. Fuck you SingFest. I don't even know why the fuck they need to keep our stubs for. What, they need to burn it for energy? Come on, the heat we experienced for yesterday and today is enough to keep Antarctica warm and snug for an entire year.

I saw familiar faces today. Not just faces I saw from yesterday, but faces I know from previous school and whatever. The queue today was crazy. Once we ran straight to the gate to queue for the main stage, beachbottoms & I queued while her friends bought the merch. Then we went, and got our merch.

Misery #2
The only Panic at the Disco shirt which I like was sold out. Fuck. I should have just got my merch yesterday when I had the chance. Pardon the excessive use of profanities. I really don't usually use them, but really, fuck. So I just one just for the sake of getting one, and I don't know whether I'll get to wear it. The European size S (according to the merch seller) is quite big, and indeed, it is. SGD 35 for a shirt. Overpriced, in my opinion.

Anyway, we queued up orderly for the main stage, until slowly, the queue disappeared and become a crowd of people. No line, nothing. Slowly the crowd tighten and people were pressed against each other, just waiting for the door to open. What's the point of rushing for the queue when there wasn't a queue anymore?

We started waiting from 2PM, but the fucking doors opened at 3.15PM. One hour of waiting without being able to move, squat or do anything. I really want to complain. Where's the feedback form, SingFest? The whole crowd of people were getting really impatient and we start chanting things like "Why are we waiting?", or saying stuff like "Get open the fucking doors already." The other traumatic experience was when the doors finally open. Even the security guards had to counter us like they would in a riot. We all squeezed through the door together, can you imagine? Bodies pressed against each other, but not being able to go through the door? I thought we were going to die. I couldn't breathe for like half a minute.

Then when beachbottoms & I got through, we ran for our lives, down to the main stage. Today is the day which had more media. There were cameras everywhere. From when the doors opened, right down to the main stage, recording the way we ran down to get a good spot in front of the stage. My shorts was loose and oh my lord, it was slipping down my butt as I ran. So I ran in an awkward sort of skip. Ha. Pretty amusing yet embarrassing. I'm sure I would appear on tv, should SingFest ever have a DVD, or be broadcasted on tv. Look out for me, right in front for Day 1, and running for my dear life for Day 2.

I didn't get as good a spot as yesterday, but at least I was about three rows from the stage. Stacie Orrico came on first, and even though I still felt miserable about my lost autographed ticket stub and not being able to be right in front, I slowly loosened up and enjoyed the music. I tried to snap some pictures, but most of them weren't good.

Misery #3
I had a fucking lousy camera with me because my sister didn't want to lend me hers. The zoom was lousy, and the features are lousy (for a lack of better adjective). I'll post the best, which really ain't much. I couldn't get any decent shots of Panic at all. I shall elaborate later.

So anyway, after Stacie Orrico, it was Jamie Scott. Girls were screaming their head off for him (which was really fucking annoying), and they said he's cute, but oh well, all I can say is that he's really not my type, in terms of physically and musically. Sorry, but I was quite bored during his set. It was then that I really missed the rocking of yesterday. The infectious energy and the absence of annoying teenies.

After Jamie Scott, it was One Republic. They're good. By this time, the crowd pressed in closer just to get closer to the stage. This ABC(?) guy who was behind me was pressed against me, fucking uncomfortable. I could just jab him where it hurts, but I didn't since he apologized. One Republic was awesome! The contagious energy which I was just missing was back again. We rocked (no mosh pits, thank goodness) and sang with all our hearts, and the band was nice. Jamie Scott was a bit reserved, which is something I don't quite like when I see live bands perform.

After One Republic, it was the band which I've been waiting for: Panic at the Disco. They were held up for a bit after they were announced to come on. I saw Zack doing his job, getting the equipment ready and all that jazz. I didn't know patd had such a large fan base in Singapore. It puts me off actually. Today, I saw for the first time the true meaning of "fucking annoying teenies" who only know the names of the leader singer and guitarist, and don't know half the lyrics to one song.

In the queue before we could enter, there was this group of girls behind us with huge boards (like 1.5m x 1m?), saying "I'm the future Mrs Urie" (fuck them), and stuff like "Marry me Ryan Ross"(?). Seriously, they're disgusting. I was so put off. Then while were queuing, a lorry had to drive past the are where we were queuing, and their placard got ran over! You should have seen the grin just broke out on my face without any restrain. I couldn't have laughed with more glee. So anyway, during the performance, the girls kept shouting "Ryan, marry me/kiss me/I love you!" which got me so darn irritated.

Misery #4
When I was queuing up, I figure that more than half the early birds were Panic fans, and boy was I more than right. By the time One Republic was done, the crowd pressed in closer to the stage and I was so tightly pressed. I couldn't take a good shot at all because those fucking inconsiderate fans had placards blocking my camera's view. Not to mention that I'm short, and even tip-toeing didn't help much. So, of all bands, really. I couldn't get a single fucking decent shot for my favourite band.

I was so miserable, I gave up my third-row position to the ABC guy and moved to the back to just stand around and try to get high. I couldn't. My breathing was irregularly and I was so depressed I just wanted to squat down and cry. I know I'm such a goof for being so miserable, but really, I expected so much. Brendon's mike wasn't working for the first two songs but he just kept going. Good showmanship I must admit, but then he got really angry, and he almost threw a fit(?). I don't know, but I didn't quite like that. The other bands I've seen from yesterday were so much friendlier, somehow. I've read in interviews and all, how friendly the patd people are, but I don't know, I'm disappointed.

I didn't pay much attention to their music because I was moping remember, but somehow it wasn't as great as One Republic's. I left straight after Panic to get a breather because, remember, I'm on the verge of breaking down. My legs were shaking (as usual), but I was as dehydrated as I was yesterday. Coke was my meal again, and I am starting to wonder how much weight I lost. I actually managed not to feel hungry at all today (and yesterday too actually), even though I perspired a lot, and jumping and screamed a lot.

So I got a drink and just sat down on some stairs feeling depressed, and listening to the set of Jason Mraz. Gotta love Jason Mraz. He was good, comparable to One Republic. Too bad I wasn't in front rocking to his music, so no pictures of him. Then it was the Levi's fashion show, and after much deliberation, I decided to leave. So I left, while Nas was there alone. Poor thing. I felt quite bad actually, but I was too miserable to stay on.

Now, for the pictures.

Stacie Orrico

Jamie Scott

One Republic

I was constantly trying to get decent shots of their bassist (i.e. when his shaggy hair isn't obscuring his face), but it was hard. I was so obsessed with taking his picture only because
1. He was in the best position for me to take his picture, and
2. I like his hair.

Then the random pictures:

Panic at the Disco's drumset. The best looking drumset on the stage today.

Zack! So cute. Haha.

Just so you know how fucking annoying those made-of-paper placards are.

Perhaps the most decent picture I have of Ryan the whole night. :(

This might be the most decent picture of Brendon, with Eric in the background. I couldn't even get a decent shot of Spencer nor Jon! *wails*

This weekend is probably by far the most unhealthy weekend of my life. The excessive inhalation of passive smoke, the empty stomach, the coke-for-meals, the heat, the perspiration, the dirt, the elbow-in-my-back, the irregular breathing, the jostling, and what else, just name it. I think I might come down sick soon.

I'm still feeling miserable. I saw Gina and Germaine today again. Omg, you had no idea how happy I was when I saw them. I practically ran and give them a huge hug. If I could go for another SingFest (which I highly doubt so, not because of the price, but because of the shittiness of it all), I would go with them. For a less mainstream performance. You know, if it weren't for the fact that Panic was performing on Day 2, I wouldn't even bother about Day 2.

Come on, PCD? Alicia Keys? As Ian Watkins said, Alicia Keys only has one good song, and PCD just uses sex appeal. The thing about SingFest Day 2, is that it's so commercialized (is it even the right word???), it's annoying. It's for the life of the rich, seriously. The people I saw today were all willing to pay $10 for a pathetic cup of Heineken beer. The were willing to buy the extremely overpriced food, and more than half the people who attended (excluding the crazy teenies/fans/whatever) were expats. Donned in their designer wear, they smoked, drank and partied.

The cameras they had for today were much more than the ones for yesterday. I'm almost positive that they will broadcast SingFest '08 soon, on a public holiday, perhaps. Or maybe they would make it into a DVD. Anyway I did hear it on the news that they want to make SingFest BIG, and internationally recognized, that's why they're trying to get good bands and all.

I like the part about the good bands, but I hate the part about making money, because poor people like us have to pay hell just to enjoy a live performance of our favourite acts. Then we also don't get to enjoy the performance because those expat kids ruin everything for us. I'm not saying I hate SingFest now, because I truly enjoyed it yesterday, but I just wish the second could have been much better.

I was so miserable I cried on my way home. Now I think I shall go sulk again. Goodnight.

    <lj:music>Sing - Travis</lj:music>

OH MY GOD, WHAT CAN I SAY? SingFest 08 was AWESOME.

A lot actually. Be prepared for a very lengthy post with explicit content.

Today I woke up late, so I rushed out of home without a drink nor a bite. Met up with Joanna so that she could collect her weekender pass. I was feeling depressed because by then I still haven't found a person to go with me. I was apprehensive and I even decided to just skip today if I really can't find anyone to go with me.

The walk to Fort canning park took about a fifth of my energy reserves. Oh my gosh, I'm not going to wear skinn tomorrow. We queued up, and the amount of people and the type of people we saw there intimidated me a hell lot. Then I saw Fiona and gang, so I text her to ask if I could join her. She agreed, and so finally I had people to go with!

First stop was the secondary stage with local acts, like A Vacant Affair? Good start, really. I was pretty stiff and awkward in the beginning, but I slowly started to tap my foot and nod my head a little, but that's that. Still feeling awkward you see.

Then we moved to the main stage which wasn't open yet, and the twins had their friends queuing up, so we joined them, and we waited for like half an hour(?) for the damned gates to open. I was so hot and my water reserves were being lost rapidly. No drinks (except a few mouthfuls of Barcardi) because we need coupons to buy them, and a bottle of coke cost SGD $3. What a fucking rip off, really.

The organisers for SingFest must have had it good. I heard from Fiona that a stick of Kebab was $10. A bottle of Barcardi (like those you see in 7-eleven) was $12. Seriously, daylight robbery. No food and drinks allowed, so this is how they earn. Like the tickets weren't expensive already.

The gates finally opened and being the first few in line, we ran to the main stage and was right in front! YAY. We waited and waited, and then it started.

First was the band Dearest. I was still feeling a bit awkward, but man, they sure know how to work the crowd. They got me clapping and rocking. Then it was Crowned King. Awesome band, really. I heard they were here last year too. By the third, who was a female rocker, Melanie something, I wasn't as energized and I couldn't enjoy the music. She was good though. Really female dominated, like me. She kept scolding all the guys. Ha. She did a cover of Yesterday too! Awesome.

Highlight of the day #1
Then it was New Found Glory. Oh my lord. By then I was dying of thirst because I've got no water with me. Then, the mosh pits started. Oh my God, this is probably the most traumatic experience I've been through. People were moshing and pushing against me, and they were crowd surfing and kicking up the soil.

Bodies were pressed hard and tight against each other and perspiration were all over the place. The heat was just intense and thank goodness I didn't encounter anyone with BO. You all know how claustrophobic I tend to get. Thank goodness I didn't act up. The bodies were pressed so tightly together that when people jumped, I got lifted up with them. Shocking.

It was so bad I almost fell, but I did hit my butt. & then this dude saved me by picking me up otherwise I probably would have been trampled on. Fiona & I were separated from the twins, and in order not to get separated again, we interlocked our arms and ended up right smack in the middle of the mosh pits. The guys did pause a bit because they saw two girls in the mosh pit, but in the end we still got moshed out of the pit.

By then my legs were shaking and I was hyperventilating. Oh my God I almost cried, but in order not to be embarrassed, I didn't. We went up to get drinks, and I bought a can of Pepsi Twist from the vending machine. Totally rejuvenated me. We rested for a while until the moshing stopped. Anyway, apparently NFG wrote the song Iris. The guy said they gave it to someone (they didn't know it was the Goo Goo Dolls?) for free. They performed that song, and Kiss Me. Awesome! I didn't know they were middle aged actually. The leader singer still have that voice which I thought was cute. Oh, and NFG sure knew how to work the crowd. I think they're the best band in working the crowd. They said thank you in malay and they said they knew cantonese too. Amazing band.

Highlight of the day #2

After NFG was Melee! Oh my God, Melee can jolly well take over my favourite band (or at least second in place). They are so nice (there could be a better word, but I'm not going to use it.) Seriously! They were all smiles and the bassist is so adorable. The lead singer was so nice and they all agreed that Singapore is the best country they've been to! & they even made a short song for Singapore! How cute!

After everything, I took a photograph with Chris, (SPAZZZ) and got his autograph on my ticket stub! SERIOUSLY, they're so nice, I love them! Chris was so, so nice! He took his time to speak to everyone who was waiting to speak to him, and everyone who was waiting to take a picture with him. & he was always smiling. I hope I can get Brendon's autograph tomorrow.

Anyway, after Melee, it was the Levis Fashion show which is stupid and time consuming. I waited for lostprophets until I was impatient and near fainting. I tell you, the organizers for SingFest this year is so annoying. The ridiculous price of food and drinks, the unnecessary fashion show, the technical glitches. Damn, I do hope they read this and make changes to it!

After NFG, I was prepared for a new moshing round when lostprophets came on. It wasn't as bad as NFG. At least I wasn't literally falling all over the place. I was just jammed against the person in front of me. There was this annoying middle aged couple whom I hope would faint from all that moshing, but no, apparently they're quite fit for their age. The stupid woman was shaking her head like she was in a shampoo advertisement, and her perspiration was raining down on us. It was disgusting.

A girl behind said fuck, and I just kept glaring at her. Her husband was jammed up against me for one moment and I felt so goddamn violated. I was sorely tempted to kick my leg backwards to where it would hurt, but I didn't, because it wasn't exactly his fault. At least he kept his hands to himself. One of the twins' friend had a guy wrap his arms around her chest. Poor girl.

You know the thing about moshing, is that it's so distracting. I wanted to just rock to the music, but I couldn't. Fuck, I'm sore that I didn't get to rock to the last few songs of lostprophets' set. I was just praying to get out of the crowd, heat, dirt, whatever. Ian Watkins was so charismatic, but I found him a bit gay, but he's so skinny and he's great with the crowd.

After lostprophets, we all stumbled out of the crowd, soaked, and then we exchanged money for coupons, and I had my second meal of the day: coke. Well, if what they said about the sugar content in coke is true, then at least I know I'm not going to suffer from hypoglycaemia anytime soon. At least I know I have to be prepared for tomorrow by bring lots of water, tissue and don't wear jeans.

So all I had for today was a can of Pepsi Twist, and a bottle of Coke. My stomach is awesomely flat and nice. We loitered around, waiting for Travis to come on. Simple Plan was before Travis, and they performed a rockier version of Low by Flo Rida! SO CUTE.

Then finally Travis came on, and by then I wasn't in the around, which was so saddening because I wanted so badly to be in front and rock to their music! They were so good, and oh m lord, their accent. Adorable! By then the crowd wasn't moshing anymore, and they didn't even react appropriately to the music. Sad, because Travis is such a great band. I had to leave halfway while Travis were doing their set though.

I had to catch the last train home, and we wanted to avoid the end-of-Singfest crowd. I think I caught the second last train and the second last bus home, so here I am. I took Yakult to fight off whatever infection I might have from all that soil I inhaled. Did you know that I breathed in so much soil that my nose got runny after like 1 minute, and when I blew my nose into a tissue paper, I blew out soil? That was how bad the moshing was for NFG. MY lord. I can only think of Bacillus cereus forming spores in the soil now. I'm so worried.

I need to be hydrated and energized for tomorrow. I hope tomorrow will be better. Today the stupid teenies were moshing just for the sake of moshing. & I overheard some of them saying they're coming back again tomorrow. God, if they're going to mosh to any of the bands tomorrow (which is obviously inappropriate), I'm going to kick them hard for their stupidity.

Reminder:
Bring markers and pen for autographing.

Oh yea, I'm damn sad I didn't have a fucking camera with me today. Did you know how great my pictures would have fucking turned out? Fuck.

Conclusion:
I had an awesome time and I hope tomorrow will be better. Oh, and did I mention how soiled my red chuck taylors are? It so sad, but I think I'll just have to wash it. Picture(s) will come in another time. Oh, and a lot of my stuff broke due to the moshing. I WANNA GO FOR SINGFEST NEXT YEAR AGAIN!

Okay, here's what happened tonight.

I've got my Sunday SingFest tickets, which I bought with the Citibank promotion. Then there's the contest which I took part in Oops! magazine for the weekend pass, which I didn't win, of course, but my beloved Joanna, who helped me take part in the contest, won, and she's giving her weekend pass (singular) to me.

So, now I have an extra Sunday singFest ticket which I'm willing to sell at a lower rate. F-list, anyone up for it?

So Christmas is coming (YAY!) and we all have a little something we want this Christmas. I'm going to make a full list of what I want.

Perhaps, after that, you can share your wishlist too? Not that I will try to get you anything off your wishlist. We'll see, if the price is reasonable.

So, here goes.

01 IPOD CLASSIC

02 NIKON D40X DSLR

03 DYE MY HAIR LIKE HALEY WILLIAMS

04 HAVE A PEACE SIGN TATTOO ON MY HAND

05 CREATIVE EARPHONES IN RED/PINK

06 FISHEYE CAMERA

07 TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARM MERCH

SUCH AS:

07 LEGS LIKE THESE

08 PANIC! <lj:music>Everything We Had - The Academy Is...</lj:music>

nincompoop, n. [nin-kuhm-poop, nĭn-kəm-pōōp]
-The original theory behind nincompoop's origin was that it came from the Latin legal phrase non compos mentis, meaning 'insane, mentally incompetent,' which was being used in English courts by the early 17th century. However, this does not appear to be the actual genesis of the word because its earliest forms (around 1676) are spelled nicimpoop and nickumpoo. The Oxford English Dictionary says that the word is most likely a 'fanciful formation' created because for its ridiculous sound. Other scholars say that nincompoop may be based on a given name of a historical figure named Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a pharisee in the 1st century CE who naively questioned Jesus Christ in the gospels. The French word nicodème means 'simpleton' and may be the possible beginning of our nincompoop. Another plausible origin is the French nic à paux, a term of derision in the late 16th century.

Taken from word_ancestry, here.

So, to those who have been asking me what's a nincompoop whenever I use the word, now you know. It's a real word, not something I made up.

    <lj:music>Everything We Had - The Academy Is...</lj:music>

I'm seriously damn bored.

Just now, I wanted to surprise my mother with her birthday cake, so I thought of coming out with her cake when she returns home from work. Who knew that today, she stayed back to finish up her work and only reached home at 9.15?

I waited for her from around 8.20, and I brought out the cake to stand by, with all the candles stuck in. At 8.20, I had a hunch she would be back, so I lit the candles to get ready, but she didn't.

So I blew out the candles and waited, and waited for her to return, all the while staring out of my kitchen window so that we (my maid and I) can prepare ourselves when we see her coming. I waited until I asked my maid to watch over while I had my dinner, and while having my dinner, there was a hard knock on the door.

My maid told me that it was my mother when she didn't even look through the door hole (Is that what it's called? I can't seem to remember the proper term now.), and she impatiently egged me on while I attempted to light the candles on the cake as quickly as I could.

Then the phone rang, and my mum called to tell us that the man collecting payment for our newspaper subscription was outside, and we were supposed to open the door to pay him. What a stupid false alarm.

Getting impatient by now, I waited and stared out my kitchen window, all the while waiting for my mum to return, but I never saw her, until my mum started saying to me in a hushed voice, that my mum was back, when I didn't even hear anyone knocking on the door.

The cake was on standby on my dining table, and I panicked and attempted to light the candles with a lighter, burning my thumb in the process. I was never good with lighters; I always preferred matchsticks. Then, out of desperation (because my maid was waiting for me to finish lighting up the candles before she opened the door), I grabbed (not literally) the cake and ran to the kitchen, and attempted to continue lighting the candles in the kitchen.

I tried to stall for time, but the stupid lighter was too hot and I burnt my thumb in the process. From the kitchen, I heard my maid laughing while she opened the door for my mum, who was obviously still clueless and quite put out when my maid took so long to open the door for her.

When I thought I heard my mum approaching the kitchen, I sang Happy Birthday rather off-tune-ly, all the while attempting to finish light the candles. Seriously, I must admit I'm quite lousy at this. Turns out that my mum wasn't approaching the kitchen at all; my singing attracted her to the kitchen. & even when she reached the kitchen, I wasn't done with lighting the candles. HAHAHA.

& by this time, wax was dripping onto the cake already.

Oh wells. We (my maid & I) sang a fragmented Happy Birthday while I asked my mum to make a wish and hurry blow out the candles before the whole cake gets covered in wax. She took a damn long time to wish, and there I was, holding the approximately 5kg cake up for her.

When she was finally done, I got to eat the cake.

Chocolate Banana is seriously damn good. Luckily I didn't get Black Forest, because my mum's friend bought her a black forest cake, and I'm quite sick of black forest already anyway. The Chocolate Banana cake was so chocolate-y and rich, with chucks of banana hidden in it like hidden treasures.

Absolutely heavenly.

So that was my not-so-successful birthday surprise for my mum.

    <lj:music>Wounded - Third Eye Blind</lj:music>

I just found this, and ooh, lovely article.
SOURCE

Specialists calculated that every tenth human being is left-handed. The total amount of lefthanders living in the world reaches over 600 million. According to experts' estimates, there will be a billion of left-handed people living on planet Earth by 2020. The world will be different against the background of such a trend, scientists say.

”The number of left-handed babies that were born in 2005 doubled the amount of left-handed children, which saw the light in 1990,” doctor of biological sciences, Alexander Dubov said. “Mankind is changing slowly. However, it is not about degradation of the human civilization at all. Quite on the contrary, people become more perfect,” the professor said.

Latest research works conducted in many countries of the globe showed that the IQ level of left-handed people is higher in comparison with the one of right-handed individuals. Every fifth outstanding person is left-handed as a rule. Furthermore, the people, who can boast of having extraordinary abilities, are left-handed too.

”There are a lot of extrasensorial individuals among them,” doctor of medical sciences, Alexander Lee said. “We checked the supposition. There are hardly any right-handers among those, who have the gift of remote viewing, telepathy, or X-ray viewing,” the doctor said.

Right and left-handers are virtually different types of people with their own special mindsets and perception of the world. “They get along with each other perfectly, but there is a hidden evolutionary struggle taking place between them, which reminds the struggle between primeval humans, Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal men. It seems to me that left-handers will eventually win the fight owing to their anomalous abilities,” scientist of anomalous phenomena, Pyotr Chereda said.

Modern scientists have already concluded that the left-handed human race will change the world; the humanity will become more intellectual and extrasensorial.

It is noteworthy that specialists do not have an explicit explanation to the mystery of the left-handed phenomenon. They discovered, however, that a human being takes either a left or a right way of development in mother's womb. Scientists photographed growing fetuses with the help of a special ultrasonic camera. If an unborn baby was trying to take a left hand in its mouth, it would be born as a left-handed infant. Specialists concluded that something happens in fetus's brain during the third of the fourth month of its development. The right hemisphere takes advantage of the left one and claims responsibility for those parts of the brain, which will later be in charge of speaking and writing abilities. The brain takes a significant change, when the left hand of a person eventually plays the dominating role. If the transformation was not that strong or if it was incomplete, it is possible for a person to take a step back. In this case, a person could be described as a right-left-handed individual, i.e. he or she would possess the qualities of both right and left-handers. It brings up the idea that something similar happened to Russian President Putin. Mr. Putin seems to be a right-handed person. However, he wears his watch on the right wrist. In addition, Putin often uses his left hand to take notes out of his right pocket.

The left-handed phenomenon may probably be explained with genetic peculiarities. The ability is often handed down across generations. There are certain bizarre peculiarities, though, which can hardly be explained with inheritance. A recent research, which was conducted among 20,000 people, showed that left-handed people are usually delivered by women over 30 years of age. Furthermore, left-handers are usually born prematurely, during the second half of the year.

Left-handed people have remarkable abilities to perceive sounds and intonations absolutely clearly and distinguish superfine color shades. They have picturesque memory, which preserves bright impressions for quite long periods of time.

Most outstanding left-handers:

Using only left hand… Leonardo Da Vinci painted “Mona Lisa”; Leo Tolstoy wrote “War and Peace;” Charlie Chaplin played with his stick. Nicole Kidman combs her hair holding a hairbrush in her left hand.

I don't know if I was born prematurely, but I was certainly born in the second half of the year.

Oh and here's a statistic I've found.

10% of people are lefties.
In the music industry, 30% are left handed.

SOURCE

See, I should have just taken up music instead of suffering in a freaking science course.

Now, can I take a safe bet saying that many of you skipped this article about left-handers?

P.S. I just joined a new community, pretty stagnant, but nevertheless interesting. Check it out if you're interested.
lefties

Okay, so recently, a comment was left on my blog by the Acid Eyeliner street team. I was asked to check out their Myspace, and I didn't really fall in love with their songs, but I didn't hate it either.

So, I'm just going to introduce you to this new, unsigned (I think) Australian band called Acid Eyeliner. I'm not good at these stuff, like writing reviews, so I'm just going to give it my best shot.

Their main influences are like 30 Seconds To Mars, Jimmy Eat World and Placebo, but I thought that their songs sounded a bit like songs of lostprophets, which is a band I quite like. They found my blog through my love for Panic! At The Disco though.

Anyway, I just though that they found the right blog to leave a comment on, because I listen to rock music, and their music is rock, but I can't define what kind of rock it is, though.

I've made my point. Go check them out, and support them, if you want to.

You know you are the ideal citizen of Singapore if you...
1. Acknowledge that the state and government knows you more than you do.

2. Accept that your personal views, opinions and voices of current affairs is insignificant, ignorant and stupid compared to a joint analysis of a group of high ranking elites that have attended Cambridge and Harvard and earns more than what you can in your entire lifetime.

3. Know that despite being brought up in a “world-class” education system, you are too stupid to manage your own money and funds and the government can do it better than you and thus for you too.

4. Understand that paying more taxes means helping your fellow poor Singaporeans

5. Thankful for the government for keeping your money in a brilliant scheme called CPF that gives you really sky high interest rates and helps grow your money.

6.Grateful for the government’s expectation of your lifespan and blessing of longevity that you will live past 65 and hence keep a minimum sum for you in the CPF that you can’t draw out till then.

7. Feel happy that the government has blessed you with the health to work till the retirement age of 65.

8. Have the pride of defending your nation and recognizing your responsibility as a citizen to do so and feel proud that Singapore is the only developed nation in the world with conscription.

9. Are aware that you need to have a large pool of males as soldiers (a large % of male Singaporeans which is really large) because we are surrounded by dangerous neighbours that may attack us anytime and that we are living on an island literally.

10. Realise the need to pay the combined salaries of the PM of Japan, Britain, Germany and United States to our PM because we can only survive if we have the best government in the world and because the rest of the world has inefficient governments or systems that can afford mediocre government.

Found here.

Makes sense though.

Okay, chop chop, I'm off to finish up my never-seem-to-ever-end reports.
